Big Brother Nigeria debuted in 2006 with the winner of the ultimate price being Katung Aduwak.
Eleven years down the line, Big Brother Nigeria has resurfaced with a new name, Big Brother Naija and 12 fiery contestants competing for the big win with one of the contestants of the first series as the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
We have decided to take you down memory lane as we present 5 of the 2006 Big Brother Nigeria contestants that were quite popular in the house.
1 Katung Aduwak
Kaduna State born Katung Aduwak was the winner of the first edition of Big Brother Nigeria and he went away with the cash price of 100,000 dollars.
His win was surprising since he came into the house after the second eviction and won about 80 percent of the tasks. He and his co-housemate, Sandy, were kept in isolation with no external contact and zero access to TV or news for three weeks before being introduced to the show.
Katung proceeded to New York to get a directorial degree from the Digital Film Academy, after which he returned to Nigeria and worked on several projects. He produced and directed the movies Unwanted Guest and Heaven’s Hell.
He is currently the Senior Channels Manager MTV Base and Senior Creative Director VIACOM Networks.
